Welcome to Home Front Pediatric Therapy!
I'm Kathryn Louthain, a pediatric occupational therapist who believes your child deserves therapy that meets them exactly where they are—literally and figuratively.
My Promise to Your Family:
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Whether your child needs specialized equipment in my clinic (opening January 2026!), the comfort of their home environment, or support in their school setting, I'll work with you to determine what's clinically best for them.
Creating Success Together: What Makes My Approach Different?
-
My hybrid therapy model combines the comprehensive capabilities of my professional clinic with strategic home-based interventions when clinically indicated. Most therapy sessions will take place in my specialized clinic space (opening January 2026 in Kenmore), where I have access to sensory integration equipment, assessment tools, and a controlled therapeutic environment.
However, I integrate home-based sessions or school consultations into treatment plans when environmental factors are central to your child's goals, when family dynamics require direct observation and intervention, or when skills need to be developed and practiced within your child's natural daily routines. This approach ensures your child receives the most effective intervention in the optimal setting for their specific therapeutic needs.
-
Through parent-contracted school consultation services, I bring professional occupational therapy expertise into your child's educational environment. I work directly with your child's teachers and school team to provide environmental assessments, strategy development, and professional training that supports your child's learning success. My consultation approach focuses on empowering educational teams with the knowledge and tools they need to create optimal learning conditions tailored to your child's unique developmental needs.
-
I'm always learning and growing as a therapist—currently pursuing my Ayres Sensory Integration certification and staying current with the latest research. This commitment to professional development means I can provide you with evidence-based interventions that truly help your child thrive in their daily life.
-
I understand that families juggle a lot—work, school, activities, life. That's why I offer flexible scheduling including after-school appointments and early evening slots when possible. My goal is to find times that work for your family without adding more stress to your already-full schedule
-
I believe that family involvement is essential to successful therapy outcomes, which is why I actively incorporate parents and caregivers into sessions—whether in my professional clinic space or during home-based interventions. I've seen time and time again that children make the most progress when their parents are active participants in therapy and are learning how to implement strategies at home. I provide practical strategies and training that support your child's progress across all environments.

Your child’s evaluation will include a review of pertinent records, a discussion of caregiver concerns, observation, formal and/or informal assessments, and discussion of initial impressions and recommendations. You will receive a formal report of results and recommendations within 7-10 business days. Beginning in January 2026, all initial evaluations will occur in my clinic space in Kenmore, WA.

After your evaluation is complete, you'll have a chance to ask any questions you may have, collaborate with me to determine an appropriate frequency of sessions, and discuss what to expect from your first session. Payment and Insurance
In-Network (Coming Soon): I have pending contracts with Regence BlueShield and Premera Blue Cross. Once finalized in early 2026, these will be the only insurance plans I accept directly.
Out-of-Network: For all other insurance companies, I operate as an out-of-network provider. Here's what that means for you:
You pay at the time of service
I provide detailed superbills (itemized receipts with all necessary codes)
You submit the superbill to your insurance company for potential reimbursement
If you have out-of-network benefits, your insurance may reimburse you for a portion of the cost
